Adamind SpireTM: Sending out a lucrative message to your bottom line

MMS adoption has significantly changed in 2005. According to the Yankee Group (Dec 2005),Consumer spending is expected to grow from $11 Billion in 2005 to $30 Billion in 2009. This burgeoning marketplace has evolved consistently over the past several years, reflecting a basic market demand for a seamless multimedia experience that is available anywhere, all the time. The need to send MMS, access email on-the-go, the desire to participate in Instant Messaging (IM) forums- all of these have become highly coveted services among cellular subscribers seeking a more complete experience with their compact communication devices.

The concept of Media Adaptation or Transcoding was born of necessity. When Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) arrived on the scene, it quickly became apparent that there was a problem in guaranteeing an enjoyable end-user experience. The lack of standardization of the attributes affecting multimedia presentation on different mobile devices means that a rich media message must be specially formatted for its intended destination.

The key requirement for the success of the rapidly growing MMS market is also currently its major stumbling block - the issue of Media Adaptation.
